{November & Thankfulness}

This time of year is all about being thankful.  I know we should be thankful everyday, but November brings to light that we need to count our blessings.   I know I have to really slow down and just be thankful for what I have in my life, and stop wanting more.  I always say that November is a peaceful month,  Thanksgiving is a more relaxed holiday, I love it, I love the feeling it brings, the anticipation is so great to me.  It may sound weird but I love the way I have been feeling, my heart is so full. 

Now you all know October is my favorite month ever!!! it is and always will be.  It brings cooler weather, changing of the leaves, cozy smells, blankets, socks and the desserts always seem better in the fall.  October to me is the start of a season of renewal to my spirit.  I love the aniticipation of the holidays, makes me feel soo giddy inside.  I love Halloween, I think it is so fun, but when it's over I am done with it.  With that being said I took my Halloween stuff down November 1 and replaced the Halloween specific stuff with some turkeys, cornucopias and of course I have tons of pumpkins and fall foliage all around the house.  I have some great Scentsy smells through our house, I have a warmer in our room, the living room, a plug-in one in the dining room and Miss Hannah has one in her room, we love our good smells!!  and it makes me feel happy!

 

My son Cameron ended his freshman football year last night and they had a great win, it was such a great game and he had some pretty impressive tackles, my boy!  Tonight my niece Madeline is spending the night with Hannah, they have some cousin catching up to do, they truly love and enjoy each other, they already planned their evening out and it includes hanging out on the trampoline, watching a movie, eating popcorn, and Jim is going to fire up the bbq pit for roasting marshmellows, yum! Tomorrow afternoon we are going to a 1st Birthday for my cousins little girl Ainsley, we are so excited to celebrate this sweet girls special day, have a great weekend, be thankful,  do something "fallish" and eat something yummi!!

{China Cabinet Makeover}

I want to show you my china cabinet make-over, I wish I knew how to do the side by side before and after pictures but I don't so this is what you get.

Isn't she pretty, I am so proud of the way it turned out.  My mother inlaw gave me these gorgeous milk glass dishes, I am so proud of them.  She also handed down the turkey platter to me, I love it, she is all dressed up for fall!

{Halloween 2012}

We had a fantstic Halloween here at our house.  We had family over for a hot dog dinner, Jim moved the grill to the front and we ate out there, handed out candy to the early treaters and then we headed out to trick or treat!  We had the best time ever, Halloween around our area was so fun, the streets were so crowded with treaters.  There is a house that does a huge, very impressive haunted house and some of us went through it, and some littles decided to stay back, ha!

{Listy Time}

I have been in the such a funk the last few days, I hate feeling this way, this is my favorite time of the year and I don't want to feel this way.  I have some things going on in my life here lately that really causes me stress, but hey no one's life is without a few gliches, at least it's nothing earth shattering.  So, to take away my blues I think it's time to make a list, I love my list people!!!

Our new grill,  Jim has done some really good recipes here lately, love having a hubby who can cook!!

My new Scentsy Holiday Scents, I have -Cozy Fireside , Frosted Ginger Cookie, Vanilla, and Iced Pine for Christmas, I love the Chistmas Tree smell!!!

{Sparkly Fall Nails}

I just had to share a great find with all you ladies out there!  I was browsing through Dollar General and was in the cosmetics area, this polish caught my eye, I love all the fall colors, this is simply called "Orange", and it's only a $1.  It's Wet and Wild brand, it has the best sparkle, I am in love with this stuff!!! I also top it off with my Wet and Wild top coat, it works so well, it stays on great!!

And just to show you how great it looks... ha!

{Volleyball Girl}

Hannah is playing Volleyball and she loves it, eats and breathes it!!!  I am so happy that she is happy, I love it when my kids really enjoy an activity.  We had a little photo shoot one night before a game and I wanted to share a few pics of my girl...

{Getting My Creep On}

I wanted to give you a glimpse inside my fall/halloween home.  I just love Halloween, such a fun holiday it is, I am always so excited to put my decor out, I count the days at end of September until I can put it out.

 You are greeted at the front door with this gorgeous wreath, I just love it!

 I made this "Spooky" banner with some burlap I had, I love the way it turned out, so fun...

 I made this wreath last year, it has a new place to live this year, hanging on a mirror above the Spooky banner!

The "scary" entry hall table, I knew I wanted this to be a fun area.  The branches are wrapped in orange lights, I found this idea on Pinterest and knew I wanted to do it, it was so easy, find some skinny branches, spray paint them black, wrap in lights.  I got these black birds at $ tree and I just love them, they are perfect for this vignette.  And of course I had to put the owls in for some extra spunk!  The bats and spiders add the perfect amount of "creepy"

 "The cat" is back, and he wanted to be in the same place he was last year, he likes to keep an eye on things...

 And....eek, a spider is hanging from my chandy...!!!



 And, I am in love with my mantel this year, it is perfect!

 And these fun little guys, I have electric tea lights in them for an added shine!!

I have a few more things to show you, but they are still a work in progress, I think my house is always so cozy this time of year, the colors are so great, and the feeling in the air just makes me happy!!

{October Goodness}

This is without a doubt my favorite month, Welcome October!!! you hold so many warm fuzzy feelings for me, the house is "fallified", the days are trying to get cooler and visions of cozy fall foods, pumpkins and all things Halloween are dancing in my head!!! Bring it!!

{Rodeo Fun}

We went to the rodeo last week, Jim and I have not been to one in years, our kids have never been.  We really enjoyed it, Hannah not so much, she constantly whined about wanting to go in to the fair to ride a few rides.  We had to continuously tell her it's not about just her, we are all enjoying something different and that she should do the same.  She perked up, she really wanted to ride some rides, ha! Rides at the fair are so $$$, like a buck a ticket, and its 5 tickets per ride, yeah, not good.  She rode 2 rides, and each person got to choose 1 food treat that they wanted, Hannah and I got a corndog and the guys got some pizza.  Fair food is always so good, fried and unhealthy but still good once a year or so! Giddy Up Folks!!!
