Home????

Well, here I sit at my mother's computer, it's always someone else's computer these days that I talk to you guys from, but that's okay, I'll have my own again, in about a month or so... no I am not having a pity party regarding the fact that I don't have my own home these days, in all honesty we kinda have to laugh at the fact that we're very "nomadic" these days, we float around if you will, ha! We have been in Texarkana since Sat. morning and we are leaving today to go back to Dallas because Cameron still has 2 more weeks of school left, and then we will move down here to our apartment and I swear and promise I am not leaving town again for a long time, you see, I drive alot these days, I average around 100 miles a day, my poor Armada is pleading with me to give it some rest, sheesh!!! but really, our life situation right now is just a bump in the road of life for our family and I can't help but think that bumps are really okay, we really learn alot from them. We have had alot of fun with our wonderful family, I am so excited to live here and have them around at all times!

First of all yesterday Hannah's class went to see this movie, and it was really good, very educational and the kids liked it! Tomorrow Hannah has a picnic at the park, and on Friday Cameron's school is having an all day carnival complete with cupcake walk, snowcones, games and bounce houses!! what fun, I am working the 8:45-11:45 shift and I am also making 2 dozen cupcakes, so I am really excited about it!!!

I am seriously considering writing a little memoir of my life for the past month, I think it would be interesting, I'm seriously thinking about it and I already have a title, so stay tuned...
Anywho, we're good were back in Tex. over the weekend to go through all of our "wet stuff" and clear out what is still good, how sad to see your stuff dripping wet, moldy and smelly! The kids were hard to get up this morning, we didn't get in until 9 and they went to bed around 9:30, it was hard for them to unwind from the day. Yesterday at the "flood house" as the kids call it we had all the family there helping us and the kids were so amazing at entertaining themselves, at one point they were in a room and Hannah had on an old cowboy hat of Cameron's, Molly-Kate had an old plastic axe from Halloween's past playing it like a guitar and Madeline had a plastic alligator that she named "allie" and they were carrying on like crazy! then we went and got them snow cones for a treat because they were so patient with us, my nephew John walked around with different helmets on and wanted to ride an old dirt bike, a scooter and whatever else he could find, when I ask him what kind of snow cone he wanted he said "a wed one" (red)
Anyway, nothing else to report right now just trying to get our lives back in order, sheesh it's exhausting!!!

Okay, I really need to check in and let you know what's going on with us, get it all out there if you will, our new rent house flooded Sat. night, in a major way, at one point we didn't know how we were going to get out. We were awakend at 11:30 just 1 hour after we went to bed and the entire house was flooded, Jim had to carry Hannah out on his shoulders, the sunroom had about 2 1/2" of water in it, the house sits on an acre and it has been raining all day for days on end and we noticed the yard was like a creek but would not have imagined what would happen. We couldn't get out the front door because the water was almost waist deep, so Jim had to kick a door leading from the garage to the side of the house for us to get out and when he did water gushed in like a waterfall, we had to call 911 to let them know we were in there in case we got trapped and they came out, the firemen, our cars were going under but we got them out, and as we were sitting at the end of the driveway looking at the house it looked like it was floating on an island, the police said they had never seen anything like it ever! the electric company came and shut power off because the water was so high the house was considered electrified, all our family was called and came out to help, we had no shoes, we had nothing at that point, everyone was screaming and crying, we lost almost everything, we had just moved in that day. But, we're all okay, the kids are still having some emotional issues with it, and we now in the insurance process with the landlord because she failed to tell us the house was in a flood zone and insured with fema, so we have some serious issues ahead and are dealing the best we can. The kids and I are back in Dallas as of Tues. afternoon and Jim is handling things there, I'll keep you posted, please pray for us during this time!!! S

Swined

Okay so we have officially been "swined", the kids brought the notes home yesterday and we are out until next Tuesday! good heavens alive!!! so here we are at grandmas, far from our friends, the weather is yucky, and by tomorrow the kids will be bored!! so, we will just have to go visiting! we may also catch a movie one day, who knows???? Anyway we're just hangin out today the car isn't leaving the driveway, we needed a "down-day" from all our crazy ventures!!! so I figure later this evening before my much loved American Idol comes on I am going to have some spa time, bubble bath, pedicure for Hannah and me, exfoliating my face and heels (they are looking a bit on the nasty side) I need some TLC, for the past 2 weeks it's been packing, cleaning, all the yucky stuff and now I need to freshen it up! ha! And... you know how I got my hair cut a few weeks ago, well, I think I want to go shorter, so I am going to do that this week too and I can't wait!!! Later peeps!

Getting settled, finally...

well hello friends, long time no talk! Have we been busy, oh yeah... okay, let's see, they packed the house on Wed. and we camped out there that night on the floor, (not comfy) then we closed on Thursday, and after the kids got out of school we moved to my m/inlaws house, Friday morning we get the kids up and take them to school (25 mile trip each way) Jim and I run around all day doing last minute errands, lunch with his sister, then we came back to Pat's packed a bag and headed to Texarkana, we were so incredibly worn out, got there around 9.

Met the movers at the house at 8 Sat. morning, cleaned all day, thank goodness for a wonderful family who were such great helps!!! we could not have done it without them!!!! We left yesterday and got back to Irving around 6:30. Jim had to catch a plane to Houston this morning for a business meeting and will be back in Wed. then he'll head back to Tex. Thurs. morning, whew, just typing this makes me tired all over again! But the hard part is over and now the kids and I are settling in here for our month long stay!! I'll keep you posted!!!
